Social media has become an integral part of how businesses conduct their marketing as it is deeply embedded in today’s society. With half of the world’s population (3.5 billion) on social media daily, and the average person having 8 social media accounts, it is without a doubt that social media has become a force to be reckoned with in terms of business strategy.

Sunset Boulevard is a strong advocate for this powerful and effective form of communication. Being born in period where the world was taking shelter in a global lockdown, Sunset Boulevard relied heavily on the various platforms of social media to make its first appearance and create a lasting impression.

With restrictions being imposed, social media was the only feasible option which allowed Sunset Boulevard to spread its wings and has its name resonate not only across the local market but also across the world. It was able to make its first sale within 3 weeks of establishment to a local buyer which then followed by buyers from South Africa and UK. This was all executed using social media as no other form of marketing was implemented.

Despite the world adjusting to new norms and starting to experience long awaited freedom, Sunset Boulevard remained loyal as well as dependent on social media. It has continued to use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok to showcase its property portfolio, provided updates on new regulations, promoted offers, creating a good client relationship and building a client database via messaging.

The reason for this being the cost effectiveness, the reach and the return on investment over a specific time frame. This type of efficient and effective marketing can only be achieved through social media platforms especially in Mauritius which is a highly Facebook dedicated market representing an essential part of our business operation.

Sunset Boulevard has grown rapidly over the past 12 months and its success has been fuelled by social media mainly. Social media will thus remain a key element in our business strategy and evolve with the new demand of this ever-changing audience.
